They say it's best to remove dead parts from a plant I have no understanding of the biological reasons for this But it makes intuitive sense to me When something has died and remained attached It deserves to move into its next phase of existence And the living must go on Possibly with periodic visits to its cemetery This brown piece that came away with no argument Instead of unceremoniously dropping it in the trash I will place it gently in the lawn Not so that I might see it again But so that life and death might both find their homes
