Apparently time machines can go forward
If you're going fast enough
But to head back
Seems more difficult
Getting things to unfold as they once did
Is more of a fantasy than a fantasy
Staccato will be the rhythm of the music
That you once loved
Even if you hear it in the same place
In the same key
Because nostalgia is a sense that is always overwhelmed by the main five
And going back is not a direction
It's just another sort of forward
With expectations that a past might represent
A future that seems better than the present
