On a Leash, with a Tongue Hanging Out, Led Along

It's like a mobile zoo
With a couple bags
To become a mobile toilet
It's the kind of captivity
That prevents bites
And keeps a thing alive
That might have never come to be
If not for the promise
Of rope with a little fastener on the end
And they're cute
And mostly friendly
Except when they're not
A bit like me
And of course we're all on a leash
Don't you remember?
Right after the rabbit
In that movie
Donnie something
These leashes are tethered to a future
Even when I'd rather stay and smell something in the grass
Though, I mean, when they want to stay and smell something on the tree
Sitting low, actually, lying down
Don't let me go to sleep, I'm of the opinion, that these ropes are better than a nap
But if you sit, I'll sit
But if you ask me to sit, I'll stand
Thank you very much
