Physical art An act Under conditions duress Flipping ant Survival, but not fittest For the fittest is a threat And fitness is a test Of ignorant schemes To improve the conditioning Of one's lowers And it's in the water An invidious prescription To run and run and run Hamsters on triangular wheels Not exactly spinning Jarring the brains of these gentle creatures As they hurry along to nowhere Becoming less and less gentle As they scramble Rolling nowhere Feeling everywhere A pain of existence Rather than treading to the mill Fake the punch card Ask for a favor And take the days To go off Scrambling up the rocks To get out of the valley To the one with the river full of fish For the fish are a threat And an opportunity To swim and teach oneself How to be a fish And have plenty of food Artfully meandering Between the hills Over the edges Coloring inside and outside the lines Getting out of the way
