Better, But Not in Principle

I thought I didn't believe in better 
Valuation, a fool's errand 
Ranking, an absurdity wrapped in a hypocrisy 
But I've found a way of seeing 
Where a way can be better 
Than another way 
But not over time 
Or space 

When faced on a path 
With my situation 
My context 
The specific lay 
Of the land 
A compass might be consulted 
That cannot sense any lodestone 
But is sensitive to the moment
