Paddle head up
Across the river mouth
Looking ahead
To dives and swims
Your rat-possum tail
Arcs up from the lake
The tip guides in reverse
Sending you down
Unpredictable your rise
My eyes cannot see
Your preference to be
Out of sight out of danger
This figure of fate
For the muskrat knows better
