Spacetime Law for Poems

When you have a certain amount of time
Particularly when time is short
The verses that you can write
Will make your fellows snort

They'll reject your prolific spree
If they have any idea how long it took
For how could great poetry
Spring out as quick as you cook

But imagine the outcome not
For if you think it won't be
Merely get going on a jot
And perfection the words you'll see

You might repeat a rhyme scheme
Or even overdo a word
But when the English teachers review
They'll find even these patterns, absurd

Onward upward outward
Keep going and don't think to stop
Until the timer beeps
Then it's back to the coffee shop
