Mutuality Not love Not kindness Not diffidence I desire from most of my interactions Some level of consideration For the needs Beyond the individual I don't demand it But I seek the company Of those who keep it At the top of the narrative stack For to consider the consequences And the piling up of value beyond one's oneness Is to accept the essential herdiness Of our strange mammalian humanity And to see morality Not as an outgoing religious faux compact Not that those are necessarily outgoing But as a requirement for conscious thought A price to pay for perhaps only the illusion of free will But even if it's an illusion I'd rather live in a deluded world with some ethics Rather than a world full of the micro leviathans Trying to eat everything they can get into their grasps Extending their reach through control And so I'm here To get along And go a little bit further And help along
