Is it too much to ask

To be uncontroversial and famous
To be a citizen of everywhere and of wherever I am
To live to the ripe age of 120 and then live a hundred years more
To eat a dozen grapefruit and preserve my enamel
To have a hundred friends and soulful conversations daily
To have an immortal soul and believe in nothing
To know everything and fear nothing
To eat once an hour and never buy new pants
To have the conveniences and not be watched
To be the hero of someone else's dreams and still be a hero to me
To bike every day and stay off the hoods of other people's cars
To recognize my faults and then fix them
To cook with peppers and then touch my eyes
To do something stupid and pay no price
To have plenty of money and suffer no one's authority
To use lots of technology and have free will
To eat hot peppers and maintain a discerning palate
To have dinner and a clean keyboard
To pick only one option and accept the loss of the other
To pick only one option and accept a total loss
To be writing a poem and choose when to stop
